Abstract

This study aimed to determine the water content of cowpea grains (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.), using the standard oven method (105°c ± 3/24h), in accordance with the guidelines of the Rule of Seed Analysis Brazil (2009). The results showed that the values obtained for the water content of the seeds were far from ideal for marketing and storage. The uniformity of the data suggests a consistency in the texture of the analyzed seeds, despite the possible lack of physiological maturity.
