Abstract

Cassava is a regional culture of great importance because of its adaptability and an excellent source of protein, on the other hand, the management system is critical to the success of cultivation. This  study aimed to use a scaled semivariogram to determine the spatial variability and sample planning of physical and chemical attributes in a Cambisol cultivated with cassava in the region of Humaita, Amazonas. The experiment was conducted in a Cambisol cultivated with cassava, establishing a grid of 70 x 70 m.  We collected  64 samples of soil disturbed and undisturbed with a regular spacing of 10 m in depth, 0.0-0.20 m to determine chemical attributes and physical. The data were subjected to analysis descriptive statistics and geostatistics. It was concluded that the physical attributes have higher spatial variability  concerning chemical attributes of the soil showing a range of 30 and 42 meters, respectively, in the adjustment of the scaled semivariogram.  Based on the scaled semivariogram, to characterize the spatial variability of physical attributes and chemicals in Cambissol cultivated with cassava, the sampling density is 11 and 6 points ha-1 respectively. The use of a scaled semivariogram is efficient in determining the sampling densitybecause  the present values range close to the average values of attributes analyzed individually.
