Abstract

From the early 1990s, in the municipality of Alto Paraíso de Goiás (GO) are being offered training courses for trekking and professionals of touristic and eco-touristic areas. The courses, addressing to the community as a development opportunity in line with the naturalistic vocation of the region, offer opportunities for empowerment and growth, provide cultural and technical tools for self-management and valorization of local resources and become exemplary initiatives of economically, environmentally and socially sustainable models.
