Abstract

This study analyzes the revictimization process against women victims of rape, as well as legislative progress in the face of the State's institutional duty in preventing and combating violence against women. A literary review was carried out on victimology and its contributory nature; analysis of scientific research statistics on the psychological impacts caused by rape, based on data from SINAN, as well as the FBSP Panorama 2022 and the 2019 National Health Survey; historical analysis of rape culture and its repercussions in Brazil; comparative about the Mariana Ferrer case and judged in the face of revictimization. In this way, the importance of welcoming the victim, institutionally and by society, forms of support and encouragement to report the crime is discussed. It appears that the non-reporting of rape crimes occurs in addition to the trauma left, as well as the culture of discrediting women's words and their trivialization as non-probative value.
