MONITORING IN GEOCIENCES: EXPECTATIONS AND CONTRIBUTIONS

This research aims to investigate the expectations and contributions of monitoring in the Geosciences discipline. An investigation was carried out with students of a Licentiate Degree in Biological Sciences at a public university in the city of Iguatu-CE. Forty students were interviewed through the application of questionnaires, collecting data before and after the course. The responses obtained were expressed in graphs. As for expectations, monitoring in Geosciences is an activity demanded by students and seen as essential for teaching-learning. As for the contributions, it meets the demands and creates a proximity between monitors and students. It is concluded that monitoring made it possible to achieve the objectives proposed by the discipline, resulting in a good preparation of its students.
