Abstract

Tomato occupies important position both in fruit consumption in its natural state, as in processed being considered a vegetable of extensive use. Seedlings are essential for the production system, since they are going to the field production. There are substances not widespread in horticulture, which are already used in most major crops, such as
phytohormones with morphological and physiological effects, can generate qualitative and quantitative gains. This study aimed to evaluate the application of plant growth regulators (GA3, AIB) to contribute to the further development of tomato seedlings. Two applications of AIB and GA3 at concentrations of 0.05 g.L-1 were made at 10 and 20 days after germination. At 36 days after sowing, the characteristics were evaluated: seedling height, stem diameter, mass of dry matter and fresh, obtained by removal of seedling tray, washed in running water to remove excess substrate adhered to the roots, and after weighing the fresh matter. Gibberellic acid is more efficient in increasing height when applied at a concentration of 0.05 / l. The application of gibberellic acid and indolbutyric
resulted in a more balanced effect on the development of air changes and greater dry mass gain.

Keywords: gibberellic acid, indolbutyric acid, Solanum lycopersicum L.
