Profilaxia da úlcera de estresse no ambiente de terapia intensiva em uma unidade hospitalar no município de Anápolis-Go

Objective: Evaluate the stress ulcer prophylaxis (SUP) in patients hospitalized in an intensive care unit (ICU) of and private hospital unit, midsized and of high complexity in Anapolis - Goias. Methods: is an retrospective and descriptive study of medical records of over 18 years old patients in the ICU, in the period of January to June, 2017. Was obtained data about sociodemographic profile (including sex and age), risk profile of developing stress ulcer (patients with high intermediary and low risk of developing stress ulcer), indications of SUP and SUP prescription data (drug used and duration of the prophylaxis). Results: The sample was from 208 medical records. The age average was of 65,3 years old and there was a predominance of females (55,8%). Of the total sample, 46,6% of the patients are in the high-risk group of developing stress ulcer , 26,4% in the intermediary risk group and 5,8% are in the low risk group. The SUP was performed in 99% of the patients, being recommended in 26,5%. Ranitidine was the main drug used in SUP with a predominant range of use time between 1 to 5 days. Conclusion: It was proved the high use of SUP in the intensive care unit environment. Became evident that SUP, in the ICU question, happens in a disharmonious way as proposed in the literature, considering that patitens of low risk for development of stress ulcer and without indication for SUP received the drugs.
